UCD-BECKMAN UNIVERSITY Biomanufacturing & Microbiology Symposium and Workshop

Beckman Coulter are delighted to invite you to the UCD & Beckman University: Biomanufacturing Symposium and Workshop, where you will explore the exciting world of biomanufacturing and its groundbreaking applications, hosted by the University College Dublin, Conway Institute of Biomolecular and Biomedical Research.

This event aims to provide attendees with valuable insights into upstream processes conducted in biomanufacturing labs and offer hands-on experience with cutting-edge equipment. In the workshop, they will present and cover advanced analytical platforms for life science research, providing technology solutions to 21st century research questions for academia and industry.

Date and Time: March 12, 12:00 hrs GMT to March 14, 2024, 17:00 hrs GMT
Venue: University College Dublin, Conway Institute of Biomolecular and Biomedical Research

During this event, esteemed speakers who specialize in each stage of the biomanufacturing process will present their remarkable achievements and discuss the main challenges they have faced. The focus will be on the design-build-test-learn cycle, the central dogma of synthetic biology, which plays a pivotal role in this field.

These are some of the confirmed presentations:

  • Olivier Borkowski (INRAE – AgroParisTech – Université Paris-Saclay, France) - Maximization of production in cell-free systems
  • Rennos Fragkoudis (Edinburgh Genome Foundry, United Kingdom) - The Edinburgh Genome Foundry: A Robotic Setup for High-throughput Bioengineering
  • Rodrigo Rangel (Fermentalg, France) - Use of flow cytometry for the phenotyping of industrially relevant microalgal strains
  • Frank Delvigne (Université de Liège, Belgium) - Control of cell population dynamics: from microbial ecology to bioprocess engineering
  • Bertram Geinitz (Julich Institute of Research, Germany) - Automated screening workflows and fed-batch cultivations in the BioLector
  • Andrew Lee (Queen's University Belfast, United Kingdom) - High-throughput wastewater surveillance using the Echo 525 Acoustic Liquid Handler
  • Alfonso Blanco (University College Dublin, Ireland) - Flow Cytometry in Microbiology. A powerful tool to consider.

Take the chance to participate in one of our workshops to get hands-on experience with:

  • CytoFLEX Flow Cytometer
  • Echo Acoustic Liquid Handler
  • Biomek i-Series Automated Workstations
  • Biomek NGeniuS Next Generation Library Prep System
  • Genomic Reagents
  • BioLector XT Microbioreactor
We encourage you to take advantage of this unique opportunity to expand your knowledge, network with industry experts, and gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge biomanufacturing equipment.

To secure your spot, please fill out the the form on the right.

Please note: Travel costs and accommodation must be covered by the attendees. Refreshments will be provided.
